Shoveling the capitol steps was a daunting task for a freshman Congressman wearing 10x56-inch trail snowshoes. Alaska's only member of the House of Representatives begins his 15th term in the 107th Congress as chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and vice-chairman of the Committee on Resources. He is a member of the Republican steering committee and ranks tenth in seniority among the 435 members of the House of Representatives. |
